ACTE Conference Update by Nancy Rissky, Vice President – Client Services, Travel and Transport

Tuesday, April 7th.

Another full day of packed education at the ACTE Global Education Conference. Today I attended the Education Session, Social Networking…U cn do it!

The theme of the session was that now is the time for travel managers and suppliers to embrace the opportunities social networking provides to optimize communication within the business travel triad—travel manager, travel supplier, and traveler.  Boundless opportunities emerge when travelers stay connected through blogs, forums, and other formats that provide real-time feedback for improving travel services.  We learned how to get started,  that there is a need for monitoring & immediate response and how traveler education & policy compliance opportunities can be applied within social networking tools. Innovative was the buzz word today along with Twitter, Tweak and Wiki.

The General Session this morning was centered around the airline industry as a whole and that each and every one of us needs to talk to our politicians about eliminating taxes on tickets.

Check out the ACTE website and Facebook to keep connected with additional happenings during the conference.

This was an outstanding event and I feel very fortunate that I was able to attend and represent Travel and Transport.

Visit the Travel and Transport site again soon for additional information regarding upcoming industry conferences and events.
